MSJC AppStream Error: "No streaming resources available"

Purpose:

This document provides information on the "No streaming resources available" error in MSJC AppStream and how to proceed when this message is received.

"No streaming resources are available"

This message indicates that there aren't enough currently running AppStream instances and is not directly related to the application that you are trying to open (i.e. SPSS, ArcGIS, MS Office, etc.).

To manage the number of active running AppStream instances, we attempt to predict usage and have a specific number pre-started during times of expected high usage. However, since we cannot fully predict usage by students / faculty, sometimes there are more users than we have prepared for, so there are not enough already running instances for all connecting users. When this occurs, new instances are automatically launched, but it takes about 15 minutes for those instances to become fully available for users.

Please allow a few minutes for the system to prepare more instances and then try again.
