When are Courses Available in Canvas

Course shells in Canvas are available to faculty on the first day of student registration. View the MSJC Schedule of Classes page to view the important dates for the corresponding term. For example; Spring 2025 registration begins on December 2, 2024, so instructors will see courses appear on their dashboard on that date.

Courses may appear in the unpublished section of your dashboard. If you do not see a course you expect on your dashboard (published or unpublished), you can check your all courses list . If the course is not listed there either, please contact your dean's office to verify the following criteria:

The course is set to active in Colleague
You are listed as the instructor of record

If the class is still not present in Canvas 24 hours after verifying this information, please submit a help request so we can troubleshoot your individual account.
