Out-of-Country Access: Accessing MSJC Resources

Purpose:
Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) prioritizes the security of its systems. As a result, MSJC restricts access to college resources from outside the United States. Prior authorization is required to access MSJC systems while abroad.
This article outlines the process for requesting out-of-country access, including the necessary approval information and the security measures in place to protect MSJC systems. Please review the guidelines below to ensure a smooth authorization process.
Important to Consider
Out-of-country access requests submitted before the registration window opens for an upcoming term will not be processed until the registration period begins. To ensure timely approval, please submit your request during the registration period. For important dates, refer to the Schedule of Classes.
Process for Out-of-Country Access
Submit a Ticket
To request Out-of-Country access, submit an MSJC Support ticket. In your ticket, include the subject line: "Request for Out-of-Country Access" and provide the required details listed below.
Required Information
Once you arrive at your destination, please provide our team with the following information:
- Name and Student ID Number:
- Exact Date Range of Your Stay Outside the Country:
- Expected Date of Return to the United States:
- Current Enrollment Status (Are you enrolled in a class as a student or teaching a class?):
- Are you using a VPN when accessing MSJC resources?
Next, we will also need you to confirm your out-of-country IP address. This should be the IP address from your primary out-of-country location.
Follow the steps below to find your IP address:
- Visit https://www.whatismyip.com/ and take a screenshot of your IP address. It will be the numbers displayed next to "My Public IPv4 is:".
Approval Process
Once you have submitted your request, our IT team will review your information. If approved, you will receive a confirmation with instructions on accessing MSJC resources while abroad.
